Crassigyrinus is a large aquatic amphibian from the Carboniferous. Like all amphibians it laid its eggs in the water. It hunted like a crocodile and lunge out of the water at prey like flying insects, and snatch fish out of the water like a torpedo. Very little known in a way about more of its life style. New research about Crassigyrinus has shown that this crocodile and tadpole hybrid. It is believe that it had a more crocodile like life style than shown. Its eyes would be on top of its head which allows them to see through the muddy waters of the Coal forest of Carboniferous. It is not proven yet but scientists believe that they had a sensory organ similar to electric eels which allows them to sense prey in the murky waters. Original estimates that Crassigyrinus lived during the Devonian Period but thanks to more carbon dating figured it would be alive during the Carboniferous due to the small limbs.
